KALIUM STRINGS

Standard, drop-tuned, extended range, alternate tuning, multi-scale...

No matter your approach to your instrument, we have your strings.

Kalium Strings are designed specifically to expand the breadth and capacities of electric and acoustic stringed instruments.

Whether you play bass or guitar, we offer you a greater choice of gauges and variety of lengths than any other manufacturer in the world. This allows you to put your instrument in the octave and tuning of your choice with the sound and feel you demand of your string set.

Kalium Strings are wound straight and packaged straight. The greatest compromise to a string’s playable life is coiling and packaging them in the traditional manner. All of our strings are stored uncoiled from the moment of manufacture. For shipping purposes only the strings are loosely coiled, and we recommend our customers store them uncoiled as well.

Our commitment to product excellence is borne of 60 years of combined experience. In addition to string development, design and production, our history also includes machine design and development and musical instrument design and production. You can expect a great deal from these strings – because a great deal went into their creation.

All things Kalium began with Knuckle Guitar Works.

The Quake bass made its debut in 1998 - it was designed specifically to go lower than existing basses could. It accomplished this by extending the scale length to 39.55" - and to date there is no other manufactured bass that can go as low as well as a Quake.

Quakes have been neck-through historically. Current production Quakes are available as a bolt-on instrument which provides a more affordable instrument with all the benefits of it’s original scale length. As well, there is a new multiscale version that improves upon the Quake’s playability and tone.

The Cascadia will re-emerge in 2018, just in time for NAMM 2019. She will arrive with a 5 string bass, and a 7 string guitar (think Bass VI).
